Vendors take over Ayanavaram Street

The entrance of Thirupachisewar street from NMK Street near Market Road in Ayanavaram is becoming a cause of concern. Residents feel that the street is becoming more and more congested every day. It is owing to encroachments by flower venders, fruit and vegetable sellers occupying considerable road space. Little space is left for vehicle and pedestrian movement.

The presence of a dirty garbage dump gives the street a dirty and ugly look. A nearby Tasmac Shop causes more trouble and inconvenience to the road users especially to the resident’s locality which is surrounded by hospitals, Temples, health clinics and four schools.

The area residents have stated that even there is a complex for hawkers, no permanent measures have been undertaken to clear and shift the road side vendors from Ayanavaram Market Street which is a important and busy location. In spite of repeated complaints by the residents, nothing has been done so far to solve the problem by the concerned authorities
