New digital signals are been installed at various intersections in Chennai city. One such new digital traffic signal system been installed at Chintamani intersection in East Anna Nagar.
The new signal replaces the older one installed because of concerns about the safety of pedestrians.
The new signal became operational few days back and includes flashing amber lights to warn motorists that they must stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk. The new signal is one of many pedestrian safety improvements implemented by the Chennai City Traffic Police Department.
