A part of the center median along Third Avenue stretch in Anna Nagar East was removed in order to facilitate easy diversion of Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) buses which are proceeding towards Chintamani junction.
Though there is a wide median gap, bus drivers face inconvenience in making a U-Turn due to continuous vehicle movement on both directions and absence of a Traffic Police official to regulate the traffic flow.
MTC buses proceeding towards Kilpauk, Broadway are now going through E-Block and F-Block streets in Anna Nagar East to reach Chintamani.
The diversion has reduced congestion at the K4 Signal junction. The MTC officials have advised bus drivers to be cautious while going through residential streets. Motorists suggested that a traffic policeman can be posted to help MTC buses to turn easily at 3rd Avenue.
