Chennai Corporation is beautifying the city’s pavements with granite stones. While welcoming this initiative city pedestrians feel that an obstacle free footpath will be safe and risk free.
The conditions of footpaths along many Main Roads and Avenues in Anna Nagar are still unusable. Petty shop vendors, garbage bins, parked vehicles, water stagnation makes walking very inconvenient.
Shri V.Nagasundaram, Secretary of Anna Nagar Welfare Association has rightly pointed out that pedestrians at 100 Feet Road, 6th Avenue and 13th Main Road are not getting basic facilities to cross such as traffic signals, traffic policemen, speed breakers and zebra crossings etc. School students and senior citizens face lot of risk while crossing and walking along Anna Nagar roads.
