Thirumangalam Ramp Work For Chennai Metro Rail Project


The construction work for elevated viaduct from Koyambedu and the ramp leading towards Thirumangalam underground metro station is in progress.

According to Chennai Metro Rail official sources, all 106 diaphragm wall panels have been completed at Thirumangalam station.

 The concourse and Base slab excavation is in progress. Moreover 30 diaphragm wall panels are completed in 2nd stage at Thirumangalam ramp area.

Excavation and strutting in progress.95m base slab casted and further PCC, water proofing in progress. Plinth has been completed for a length of 16397meters along the elevated viaduct between Koyembedu to Ekatuthangal.

Slab concreting is completed for a length of 2575 meters at the Koyambedu metro train depot. At present the metro train at Koyambedu depot is undergoing various tests including traction, braking, air-conditioning, lighting, door systems etc. After completion of all tests, test run will be operated along the elevated corridor between Koyambedu and Alandur.
