Many modern bus shelters are getting installed by Chennai Corporation in different areas. But there are few important stops which still do not have a proper shelter. The Metropolitan Transport Corporation round tana bus stop in Anna Nagar 3rd Avenue for routes 46,46 G and 47 going towards Koyambedu and Nungambakkam, Saidapet and Adyar has no proper shelter. The bus passengers are finding it very inconvenient to stand on the road and wait for the bus.
There was a shelter there earlier. It was removed to make way for a modern shelter. But till date no facility has come up. While the round tana bus stop for buses going towards ICF and Villivakkam have got a modern shelter, on such facility has been instilled at the bus stop along the opposite side for Koyambedu bound buses.
In Anna Nagar East there a number of important bus stops without a suitable roof for quite some time. Bus commuters are hoping that the concerned authorities will take steps to install a new bus shelter for the benefit of the travelling public.
