Workshop For Students

The P.G. Department of Social Work (Shift II) of Madras School of Social Work organized a two day event titled “HR Workshop” and “Altius.” 

The HR Workshop was conceived with the idea to help students to understand the employ-ability skills needed in the current scenario and preparing them for placements. 

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Fatima Vasanth, Principal and Secretary, Madras School of Social Work, Dr. PonLakshmanan, Former Jt. Commissioner of Labour, Govt. of Tamil Nadu was the chief guest. The Guest of Honour was Mr.AnnselyCarvalho, Head HR, Logitech Engineering & Designs India Pvt. Ltd., spoke on the topic “Transforming HR as a concept into Reality – Next Gen Employee Engagement Perspective.” 

At the “Altius” Cultural Fest, students from various colleges participated in HR & Social Work events such as Best Manager, Corporate Quiz, Mime and Street Play. Judges for the events include Mr.Chandran, MD & Chairman, Elegant Constructions, Mr.Keshav Kumar, MD & Chairman, SK Stone Products & Services Pvt. Ltd., Mr.Varun John,Talent Enhancement Leader, Cognizant, Kaloori Vino&Premji B, Founder& Director of Shasha Foundation. About 75 participants from over 15 colleges participated in the fest and the maximum student participation for the both the events were from “ITM Business School” and the overall trophy was won by “Stella Maris College”. The prizes were distributed by Mr. I.Raj, Director HR, The Park Hotels who also spoke on requirements of employers.
