Bus Shelters Lacking At CMBT Koyambedu

The Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus or CMBT is a modern bus terminus located at Koyambedu, Chennai. Spread over an area of 37 acres it is one of the largest bus terminus in Asia and is accredited with the ISO 9001:2000 quality certification for its quality management and excellence. Waiting for a Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) buses at CMBT-Koyambedu may not be a pleasant experience for many passengers due to the lack of shelters at the bus.

Even though CMBT Koyambedu is an important transit point it lacks proper bus shelters. Due to the lack of bus shelters in CMBT premises, passengers have been currently no shelter to protect themselves from the scorching sun or pouring rain. Some shelters have also been removed due to the metro rail construction work. Now it is up to various Government agencies, including the MTC and CMBT authorities to come up with a solution at the earliest and install additional temporary shelters at the bus bays.
