The 39th Annual Art Exhibition-2013 showcasing drawings, paintings and sculptures by talented and creative artists is on at Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai.
The mega event organised well by Tamil Nadu Arts and Crafts Improvement Association (Registered by National Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi) was inaugurated in a grand manner on 19th August 2013.
The special guest Honourable R.Prabakaran, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Science University cut the ribbon and inaugurated the event. Smt K.Sailaja Reddy, Director of Pallava Group and Sri Saikaja Exports Pvt Ltd light the kuthuvilakku and distributed the Kumaran Silk Awards.
Dr.Alphonso Aruldass, Former Principal, Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai honoured senior artists namely, Shri Maruthi, Shri Maniyamselvan, Shri V.Rajendiran with the Chitrakala Rathna Awards.
As a token of appreciation attractive appreciation awards were presented to all the participating artists. Dr.B.R.Annapillai, Founder and President of Tamil Nadu Arts and Crafts Improvement Association presided over the function. The show is on till 25th August 2013. It is open from 11am to 7pm on all days.
