Police Cautions Anna Nagar Residents

Neighbourhood safety awareness alert message boards with images in both English and Tamil have been installed by the Chennai City Police Department with the help of sponsors from popular banks and companies. It is an initiative launched by the Chennai City Police Department to keep residential localities safe and crime free. Many such alert boards have been placed at various residential localities in and around Anna Nagar area

The neighbourhood crime watch alert message boards was installed at many streets in Anna Nagar Western Extension to caution residents and make them aware of the crime trends that takes place in a locality. Through this initiative, residents can not only gain greater awareness of how to take appropriate measures to protect themselves from becoming victims of crime, but also become more vigilant in looking out for suspicious persons or vehicles in the street. The boards are strategically positioned and are clearly visible to the residents. 

Chennai City Police officials are confident that through safety awareness meetings, hoardings would increase the residents crime prevention awareness and alertness. Anna Nagar Police officials also request the residents and apartment complex owners to install CCTV facility for safety. For police assistance the public can call 100 and within minutes a patrol vehicle will respond.
