Free College Books Distribution Function

A free college books distribution programme was organized by Jaigopal Garodia Charitable Book Bank on 6thJuly 2013. The chief guest for the function, Prof. Dr.C.Chellappan, Dean, College of Engineering, Anna University distributed the free college books to the students from several colleges. Prof. Dr.C.Chellappan stated that students should have zeal and enthusiasm in their life. 

They need to work hard, and achieve their goals. He also quoted several inspiring examples. He also said it is important for students to gain knowledge and skills. Further he urged the students to work for the Nation. 

Managing Trustee of Jaigopal Garodia Vivekananda Vidyalaya Trust, Ashok Kedia while welcoming the gathering said the book bank was established in 2000 and nearly 65,000 students from various colleges have benefited so far.  The Book Bank’s Chief Co-ordinator K.S. Kesavan said that the Jaigopal Garodia Charitable Book Bank is a brain child of Jaigopal Garodia. 

He said the book bank grew by leaps and bounds and has seen a tremendous growth in the last 13 years. G. Vijayakumar, Principal gave an introductory speech. Two University First Rankers namely, Vijayalakshmi who came First in University of Madras and Revathi, B.Tech (Biotech), Anna University First Ranker, both beneficiaries of Jaigopal Garodia Charitable Book Bank were honoured with a Citation, Cash Award of Rs. 10,000/- and a Gold Medal
