Padi Flyover Needs Better Illumination

Well illuminated flyovers will avoid accidents and ensure better public safety. Motorists feel that Padi Grade Separator needs immediate installation of high-mast lamps. At present the lack of illumination make driving at the Padi grade separator unsafe after sunset.

It is also reported that the service roads especially near TVS Lucas is not properly lit. The State Highways Department has taken up improvement works on several important facilities, including grade separators at Padi and Koyambedu. Earlier the grade separators were under the control of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Beautification and improvement at present is going on in full swing at Koyambedu grade separators. The Padi grade separator will be also soon improved. Motorists while welcoming the good work carried out by the Highways Department request the concerned officials to make sure the grade separators at Padi and Koyambedu are well illuminated at night.

Motorists, especially bikers are found making dangerous turnings below the Padi flyover. Padi flyover needs a high raised center median equipped with reflector lights so as to ensure safe traffic movement.
