A major cleanup operation was undertaken by the Chennai Corporation
authorities along 13th Main Road on Tuesday 11th June 2013. Chennai Corporation
officials are prompt in cleaning debris and road side waste materials.
Conservancy staff of the Chennai Corporation cleared the blockages from the
manholes along 13th Main Road, Anna Nagar. The dumped silt and waste taken from
the manholes was cleared and removed as it was posing a health hazard and
making the road very unhygienic.
Two Corporation lorries and a small bulldozer
was used for the cleanup activity. According to official sources, Chennai
Corporation is maintaining 1160 roads to a length of 370 Kilometers and storm
water drain to a length of 962 Kilometers.
Chennai Corporation is removing
solid waste every day through 966 conservancy vehicles and maintaining
Kodungaiyur and Perungudi dumping grounds for dumping the solid waste. Chennai
Corporation has undertaken many cleanup campaigns in order to make roads in
Anna Nagar neat and clean.
