A green revolution has taken place
in the City of Chennai in the form of development of road side parks and green
gardens. Anna Nagar residents while appreciation the good work undertaken by
the Chennai Corporation to improve the city’s green cover; request the civic
authorities to set up road side gardens at all street and road corners in and
around Anna Nagar area.
At present many residential street corners are misused
as a dumping ground for debris and waste materials. Dirty street corners are an
eyesore and gives the spot a ugly look. Turning road corners into dump yards
not only causes air pollution but also creates a serious health hazard for the
residents.
Chennai Corporation has renovated and improved a number of parks and
road side gardens in Anna Nagar and giving a touch of greenery to street and
road corners will prevent dumping of waste materials and garbage’s. Anna Nagar
residents requests the Chennai Corporation officials to take steps and develop
green road side gardens at the corners of 13th Main Road,5th Avenue, Q-Block,
R-Block, 11th Main Road,6th Main Road etc.
It has been officially announced by the
Chennai Mayor Saidai S. Duraisamy that 100 parks will be newly
created/rejuvenated in the available places in corporation especially in the
extended areas of Anna Nagar Western Extension and Ambattur Industrial Estate.
