The bridge at Thathankuppam,Villivakkam connecting 200 Feet inner Ring Road is so narrow that only one vehicle can squeeze through at a time. The other vehicle from the opposite direction has to wait till vehicle passes through the bridge. Pedestrians either find themselves caught between vehicles or walk on top of the bridge wall which is more risky and dangerous.
Water stagnation and battered roads makes driving and walking a worst experience. A new wider bridge will benefit the area residents by providing an easy route to reach 100 Feet Road, Padi, Redhills, Ambattur, Anna Nagar and Koyambedu.
The area resident request the concerned authorities to take measures and do away with the old small bridge and replace it with a wider facility as there is plenty of space available on both sides. As for now, both pedestrians and motorists have to be cautions while passing through the narrow century old pathway, especially at night, until a new bridge facility gets approved and constructed in its place.
