Doing Tremendous Work By Helping Women And Children In Distress

 Indian Community Welfare Organisation is a Non Governmental Organisation working in various developmental projects with special focus to women and children for the past 19 years in Chennai. For the past 12 years Gruppo Madras Ticino Switzerland has been supporting Indian Community Welfare Organisation ICWO. 

We have supported 300 women in distress who are trafficking survivors, cancer survivors, HIV positive women and women who faced violence. We have also supported marginalized children by providing educational scholarship. Director of Indian Community Welfare Organisation, A.J. Hariharan, said that the children who have received the assistance would perform well in their academics and continue their education.

“When the beneficiaries start earning, the programme expects the awardees to contribute up to five per cent of their salary to those who are still in need. This opportunity will help the marginalized children to complete their education and will find a suitable job. ICWO is happy to provide the scholarship with the support of Gruppo Madras and we are thankful to the people in Ticino, Switzerland,” he said. Speaking on the occasion .
