Chennai Corporation Improves Lighting Along 3rd Avenue

Good visibility is an important requirement for safe driving at night. Keeping this in mind, Chennai
Corporation has recently undertaken work to improve the road lighting facility along Anna Nagar Third Avenue stretch between Round tana signal junction and 6th Avenue.

During the process, new lights were fixed and all the light post got a fresh coat of paint. Due to reports from road users about poorly-lit stretches, Corporation of Chennai has started a drive to improve road lights
in Anna Nagar area.

The civic body has initiated a programme to improve lighting with energy-saving lamps in the added areas of the city. According to Chennai Corporation sources, many of the bus route roads will be illuminated by the LED streetlights.

The LED streetlights have advantages such as longer lifespan, lower energy consumption and reduced maintenance costs.
