Anna Nagar 13th
Main Road was once a quiet residential stretch. Now it has turned out to be the
most heavily travelled residential stretch. But today the one way 13th Main
Road stretch has become a highway and a race track with vehicles speeding
across throughout the day.
The worst hit is the helpless pedestrians who as
usual get the least importance. Heavy vehicles including public and college
buses are zipping past at high speed. The intersection of 15th Main Road, 16th
Main Road is risky. Motorist’s waiting for a long time for a gap in vehicle
movement to take place. But most of the time there is risky criss-crossing at
intersections along the 13th Main Road stretch.
A traffic police man is present
only at the 6th Avenue junction. Motorists stated that police constables are
required at the 15th Main Road and Shanthi Colony 4th Avenue intersection to
regulate the vehicle movement which will be of great help to the pedestrians
who wait for nearly 10 to 15 minutes to cross the 13th Main road during peak
hours. The area residents suggested that speed restriction boards and speed
breakers will avoid over speeding.
Any idea when we will revert to the old system of two way on 13th main road? please do not say when the flyover is completed.
ReplyDeleteI am asking for the approx month.
i am sure that once the junction of mogappair and 100 feet road is opened for traffic , even before the flyover is completed , we can go back to the old system of two way traffic on 13th main road.say this can possible in a month's time.
i really hope so.
