Glimpse Of The Future

A long pending demand for a flyover at Arcot Road and Jawaharlal Nehru Road (100 Ft Road) junction, is being undertaken..Chennai Metro Rail is evaluating plans to integrate a flyover with the Metro Rail that is to run on an elevated corridor along the 100 feet Road at Vadapalani signal junction.

The flyover will be built on separate pillars from the middle of the road which will be alternatively positioned with Metro pillars. Chennai Metro Rail is expected to build a flyover at Vadapalani station. This will be built to merge with other elevated corridors and stations.

The proposed flyover will be designed to help passengers drive in and out of the station easily. The new structure ill comprise of car parking and drop off zones by ramp at the road side.

The construction work from Ashok Nagar to St Thomas Mount was awarded to L&T which will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 14.13 crore. The elevated corridor between Koyambedu to Ashok Nagar is done by Soma Enterprises.
