A Vital Link To Anna Nagar Is Set For Widening

Nelson Manickam Road is crowded through most of the day, with more vehicles than it has space for. In
order to ease traffic congestion, Chennai Corporation has planned to widen Nelson Manickam Road which is an important link to Anna Nagar.

The civic body has also started reviewing the possibility of widening the Choolaimedu Main Road from 30 feet to 40 feet. If Nelson Manickam Road is widened, it’s likely to ease traffic congestion.

The proposal for widening Nelson Manickam Road has been there for long time now. Chennai Corporation has decided to widen Nelson Manickam Road at many points.

According to Chennai Corporation official sources Nelson Manickam Road was last widened by Chennai Metropolitan Development Authorities second master plan in 1996.
