Chennai Corporation To Improve Street Lighting

A well illuminated road is safe for motorists and pedestrians. Keeping this in mind Chennai Corporation has formed a new programme to improve road lighting will focus on replacement of old dim streetlights in the corporation with latest bright lights. 

In the New Year Chennai Corporation will concentrate in improving street lighting system in the city. Installing of energy saving lights will be given importance by Chennai Corporation. 

Also corporation sources have stated that LED lights last much longer than sodium vapour lamps and helps in bringing down the level of energy consumption. Chennai Corporation have brought down the percentage of non burning streetlights in Anna Nagar, Shenoy Nagar, Poonamallee High Road, 1OO Feet Road and Mogappair-Ambattur Industrial Estate Road by conducting regular checks and maintenance work.
