On The Verge Of Completion

The Government had decided to retain the landmark Anna arch and instead make a slight deviation in the design of the Rs. 117 crore-flyover. According to the Highways Department sources, two flyovers will come up near Anna Arch at the junction of Anna Nagar 3 Avenue and Poonamallee High Road. 

Vehicle traffic proceeding from Anna Nagar 3 Avenue to Koyambedu will take the new flyover, which will be to the western side of the arch. Meanwhile, work on the restoration of the Anna Arch is proceeding and it is nearing completion. The entire work of fixing the bird and floral designs is over. Painting work on one arch has started.
