The
inaugural ceremony of Kartik Fine Arts 17th Tamil Isai Vizha in association
with Dr.Nalli Kuppuswamy Chettiar was held on 26th December 2012 at Valliammal
College for Women premises, Anna Nagar East. During the function, the title
Tamil Isai Vendhar was conferred upon Smt NC Sonudaravalli. The chief guest
Padmashri Dr.Nalli Kuppuswamy Chettiar conferred the title Isai Chudar on Thiru
Rithwik Raja.
The Dr.Seerkazhi Govindarajan Memorial Award (Instituted by
Dr.Seerkazhi G.Siva Chidambaram) was presented to Kalaimamani Parur Thiru
MS.Anantharaman (Violinist) and the Guru Karakudi Award was given to Thiru AV.Manikandan.
The guests of honour were Kalamamani Dr.Thirumathi Saradar Nambiarroran, State
Information Commissioner (Retd) and Dr.Thangam Meganathan, Chairperson of
Rajalakshmi Institutions. Thiru L.Sabaretnam, Chairman of Kartik Fine Arts
presided over the function which was followed by a drama titled Pavithra,
