A Long Wait For Good Public Transport Facilities

The ambitious project of building a 1.4-km long flyover in place of the existing Vyasarpadi subway in North Chennai is progressing slowly. Most of the residents of Vyasarpadi, stated that heavy vehicles often get stuck inside the subway. When trucks get stuck in the subway, traffic comes to a grinding halt and motorists are forced to take a detour via Ganesapuram or Perambur.

A flyover would help motorists a lot. Residents and motorists in North Chennai are irked over the inordinate delay in the construction of the much-awaited Mint flyover and Stanley level crossing subway.  North Chennai residents request the railway officials to take steps to convert the Royapuram railway station into a terminal and also extend the Metro Rail project upto Tiruvottiyur.
