The volunteers and staff of RMD Palliative Care Trust participated
in a ‘Palliative care awareness walk’ organized by Shri Isari Velan Mission
Hospital at Marina Beach on 13th October 2012. The event was held to
mark the occasion of ‘World Palliative Care Day’. Dr. Republica Sridhar
(Founder of RMD Palliative Care Trust ) told that team doctors specialized in
Palliative care from Adyar Cancer Institute and Lakshmi Pain & Palliative
Care, Kilpauk presented awareness talk during the rally.
The students from
various educational institutions held placards and distributed pamphlets to
create an awareness among the public. RMD Pain
and Palliative Care Trust, is a registered organization headed by Dr. Republica
Sridhar who is a Palliative and Geriatric Care Specialist.
The organization
provides pain relief and palliative care to terminally ill patients and their
families through medical care and counseling. The organization provides both
outpatient & inpatient service and also render home visits for patients.
