The restoration
work of Anna Arch is going on in full swing. The speed restoration work of Anna
Arch began after a brief inspection by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
According to officials, restoration work would be completed within few months
as the damaged steel rods would be replaced and strengthened.
In a bid to
strengthen the structure, a higher grade of cement concrete would be used. The
Arch was earlier set for dismantled in order to make way for a flyover project.
Now the alignment of the flyover linking Poonamallee High Road with Anna Nagar
will be changed. Anna Arch, famous landmark of Anna Nagar will be soon restored
to its past glory.
