Suburban Railway Stations To Come Under CCTV Surveillance

As a public safety measure, suburban railway Stations along the Tambaram-Beach section would be installed with more surveillance cameras. 

There are hi-tech cameras installed at different points in Beach Junction and at Tambaram Railway station. 

All cameras are operated round the clock.RPF and Government Railway Police force monitor the footage from the cameras on the LCD screens. 

According to Railway sources, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras will be installed at all suburban railway stations for passenger safety. Southern Railway also plans installing biometric access control systems for drivers and others who deal with motor cabs and engines, an official said
