Nethrodaya was awarded the Best
Institution Award by the Tamil Nadu Government. The award was presented by
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa. Today, Nethrodaya has grown in leap
and bounds from a small humble beginning by providing the best assistance to
the differently-abled community and empowering them to face the challenges of
life in a confident manner. Nethrodaya pioneered in the initiative to provide a
part time diploma in computer education for the visually challenged.
Nethrodaya
also provides a state of art web browsing centre designed specially to serve
the purpose for the visually challenged community. Further adding onto its list
of proud achievements, Nethrodaya, launched an exclusive shop dedicated to the
visually challenged, a one of its kind in the country. Nethrodaya has also made
it possible for the blind to access resources of information without depending
on the availability of readers and Braille textbooks.
Nethrodaya provides the
facility of audio books to give “on the go” access to the visually challenged
