Obstacles For Pedestrians

Pedestrian footpaths are either encroachers or made inaccessible by obstacles in the form of electricity junction boxes, cable wires, parked vehicles, garbage bins etc.

The photos show an unusable footpath at Thirumangalam signal junction.

As a result, they are forced to walk on the roads and end up hindering free movement of vehicular traffic and putting their lives at risk.

Pavements in the city are unfriendly to pedestrians and senior citizens. Walking on the city's footpaths is literally an obstacle race.
