The number of vehicles is on the rise day
by day. The 18th Main Road 100 Feet Road junction often witnesses
hectic movement of heavy and light motor vehicles from Padi, Ambattur to Anna
Nagar, Nungambakkam, Parry’s and vice versa.
To prevent chaos, the automatic
signal at the 18th Main Road junction has been activated to control
and regulated vehicle movement.
The objective of the 18th Main Road
signal is to ensure smooth flow of traffic as a large number of vehicles.
Otherwise traffic flow will be unregulated. Chennai City Traffic Police plans
to install digital signals at congested and accident-prone junctions to
streamline the flow of vehicle traffic.
The signal is also helpful for pedestrians.
