There is a digital display system at Thirumangalam bus stop. But, not all stops in Anna Nagar area have the facility. Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) official said that the digital display boards were installed at important bus stands in the city for the commuters' benefit.
The digital boards that show arrival time in advance, fleet number and destination of the buses. Many MTC buses have the Global Positioning System (GPS) technology installed and are linked to the display boards.
This enables the commuters to learn about the time of arrival on bus routes. Commuters demand the MTC soon install more display boards.
A senior official of the MTC said that more digital boards would be installed in the city bus stops. Currently, basic requirements such as route information, arrival/departure timings are displayed.
