Golden Jubilee Celebrations

Railway Colony Aided High School in Ayanavaram celebrated its Golden Jubilee year celebration on 29-03-2012.Mr. U Vijay Kumar Dy Controller of Stores and Correspondent of the school was the Chief Guest in the programme.  

 Mr. K Purushothaman Head Master welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Pushpalatha Selvam M C ward 96 and K Ramadoss President North Chennai Dist Exnora were invited as guest of honour on the occasion. 

Mr. M Russell- Jayapathy Founder & President SWORD FOUNDATIONS, V Loganathan Director BSS Computer college,  K Shanmugam State consultant youth affairs, Tamilnadu State Aids Control Society, P V Biju  NSS  Programme officer were also the special invitees who addressed the programme. Mr. K Purushothaman, head master welcomed the gathering comprising of students staff members invitee guests and also the old students who studied in the school and remembered their useful committed role to community.  

 The students were awarded with mementos and merit certificates for their achievements in the school. Prof M Russell Jayapathy and P V Biju NSS Programme Officer of St Thomas College in Koyambedu extended their support in training the poor students to improve their knowledge in English language.  Mr. V Loganathan Director BSS Computer College volunteered himself to teach computer education to students of the railway colony school.

 Mrs. Puspalatha Selvam M C (ward 96,) blessed the students to concentrate on their studies and secure centum in SSLC public exam. Mr. K Ramadoss President North Chennai Dist EXNORA conveyed his blessings to the 50 year old school.  Presenting a cassia fistula sapling to the head of the institution he appealed the student community to plant at least one sapling each on the occasion of their birth days and help nurture its growth.   

He was proud to mention that he was also a student of railway higher elementary school which had provision to teach unto VIII std only in early 50s (ESLC). The railway colony high school which has attained golden jubilee as of now lacks basic amenities like secure compound, toilet, and science lab, first aid kits, besides a Tamil pundit and Physical education teacher and a night watchman.   

Mr. Suresh old student of the school and one of the organizers of the golden jubilee celebration proposed vote of thanks.
