Big Cranes In Action

Huge cranes are in action at the underground metro rail work along Second Avenue Road in Anna Nagar West and East. The tunnel boring machines are to be used underground to construct the Metro Rail underground sections. 

The tunnel will be part of the underground line from Central station to Tirumangalam, which is part of corridor II (Central to St Thomas Mount).

The corporation has started preliminary work. Huge cranes and other equipment have been moved to the construction site. 

Tower cranes are a type of machine, generally equipped with a hoist, wire ropes or chains, and sheaves, that can be used both to lift and lower materials and to move them horizontally. 

At the metro rail construction areas in Anna Nagar, the tall cranes are mainly used for lifting heavy things and transporting them to other places. Big Cranes in action also at Poonamallee High Road and Mount Road, were the Metro Rail work has commenced and progressing well.
