Make Crossing At Koyambedu CMBT Signal Safe For Pedestrians

Exposed wires hang loosely at the pedestrian crossing at CMBT Koyambedu. This poses a risk for pedestrians who are waiting to cross the road. In other words pedestrians risk life to cross 100 Feet Road in Koyambedu. Some times pedestrians squeeze their way through the gap between the  concrete median, risking their live.

The Chennai  Traffic Police along with the Highways Department have been blocking gaps on the median wherever possible to prevent jaywalking and criss-crossing of vehicles across the road. Pedestrian safety still an issue.

Making the crossing at signals a safe experience for the pedestrians is the need of the hour. According to experts, pedestrians need to be given first preference in any traffic management programme. This will make life easy for the pedestrians.
