Tamil Nadu Arts and Crafts Improvement Association (Recognised by National Lalitkala Akademi, New Delhi and Ovia Nukalai Kuzhu- Art and Culture Department) had organised a two days artists welfare camp and art mela from 10-03-2012 to 11-03-2012 at Chennai Magana Karuneegar Sangam Complex, Dr.Subrayan Nagar Main Road, Kodambakkam. Shri.Rm.Palaniyappan, Secretary of Lalitkala Akademi Chennai inaugurated the camp.
The guest of honour were Shri MV.Gurumani, Ex.GC Member LKA and Shri A.Viswam, Eminent artist. Many talented artists took active part in the camp and showcased their excellent and wonderful creative talents and artistic skills.
The art works and concepts were done well and received good appreciation from the visiting guests and visitors.
B.Jagadesan, Art Master and Vice-HM of Nemmeli, Higher Secondary school, Mahabalipuram done his very best towards the welfare of the artist participating in the camp. During the valedictory function, certificates were distributed to all the participants’ amidst a huge applause from the audience. Senior artist Maruthi took active part in the prize distribution function and spoke on the occasion.
The hero of the artist camp, Shri B.R.Annapillai, Founder and President TACIA and Pallavas Artist Village presided and graced the entire occasion. Though the camp was to be held at Valluvarkottam, the sudden change of venue did come in the way of making the camp a success. For more details contact 9941322175.
