Metro Rail Pillar Work At CMBT


The city's Metro rail is shaping up fast with work at all locations progressing. The photo shows the on going pillar construction for the Chennai Metro Rail,at the CMBT Koyambedu bus terminus In view of the Metro Rail construction work to be carried out at the Koyambedu terminus, Transport authorities has made certain changes in the MTC bus movement at the terminus.

A line of pillars have come up along the middle of the 100 feet road on the Koyambedu-Vadapalani stretch. The Chennai Metro rail project aims at providing the people of the city  with a fast, reliable, convenient, efficient, modern of public  transport, which is properly integrated with other forms of public and private transport including buses, sub-urban trains and MRTS.

To Monitor Vehicle Movement


The photograph shows the closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras at Anna Nagar Round Tana signal junction. The Chennai City Police have installed cameras at many busy and  important road junctions in the city. The camera footage are monitored from the  control room. 

This helps to enhance traffic maintenance. In Chennai there are many traffic junctions which are fitted with CCTV camera for  monitoring traffic flow.  

According to the Traffic Police sources, latest CCTVs have been installed at the traffic junction at War Memorial, Secretariat , Wheels India in Padi, Valluvarkottam, Anna Statue, SN Chetty Road, Periyar Statue , Kathipara junction, Madhya Kailash, Halda junction, Raj Bhavan, SRP Tools on Old Mahabalipuram Road, SIET junction, Vadapalani junction on 100 Feet Road, Porur junction , Ashok Pillar, Anna Nagar , Vijaya Nagar in Velachery, Airport, Greenways Road, Velachery Road-Sardar Vallabhai Patel Road junction, Chola Sheraton signal, Music Academy, Radhakrishnan Road- Royapettah High Road junction, Nelson Maickam Road junction, Labour Statue, Kodambakkam High Road - Usman Road junction, Trident Hotel signal on GST Road, Wallajah Road Junction and in front of Fort St George railway station. The proposal for the installation of CCTV cameras was to monitor traffic offences.
