St.Luke's Church Children's Choir brings out a New Album

The Anna Nagar based St.Luke's Church Children's Choir has brought out a new music album titled "A Time To Love" for the Christmas season. The Children’s choir of St. Luke’s Church was formed in May 2008.The group was put together by Clement & Divia with a desire to teach the children simple hymns. A time to love was conceived after the choir won the first runners up in AACHI’s Sing the Season 2010, a carol competition with the desire to spread their music.

The choir members are namely, Aakash, Celine, Christabel, David, Dazzle, Divya, John, Mahima, Maria, Monica, Rachel, Rhea, Ritika, Riya, Rohit, Roshin, Sharuk, Shirley, Sujitha, Vasanth, Vishwanth with Divia & Clement. To celebrate the journey of 3 years of togetherness a Christmas album in aid of charity was conceived earlier this year to record some of the songs that we enjoyed singing together. 

Despite many obstacles, days of prayer, planning, practice and hard work resulted in a line up of 9 songs by the choir and two guest performances from adult groups. The songs are  A king is born, The Huron Carol,  Vinnil oar natchathiram,  Do you see,  Joy to the world, The Christmas Story,  Mary’s boy child, While shepherds watched  and many more carols. The music director is Mr. Prakash Williams of the Divine Harmony Studios Chennai. Mr. Williams stepped in to the project when we debated dropping the project altogether and guided us to making our dream possible. 

This album is a team effort of the choir, the musicians ,the parents, friends, well wishers, collaborators whose contributions made A time to Love possible. The Choir members renders a special thanks to St.Luke's Church Parish Priest Rev.Fr. Gregory for his  support and encouragement..
