Hardly any chance for Safe Pedestrian Crossing

It is a dangerous experience for pedestrians  who daily cross at the Poonamallee High Road - Nelson Manickam Road  signal point. The traffic movement in continuous and heavy through out the day. People crossing the Poonamallee High Road near Anna Arch have to be on alert to avoid accidents. In all countries, pedestrian safety is given the most importance.

A number of safety measures have been done to ensure safety of the pedestrians along the main roads. But in India, pedestrians safety needs to be given more importance.

With many roads turning in to One-Ways, people find it very difficult to cross the busy roads. The recently changed traffic system at Thirumangalam- Second Avenue Road junction in Anna Nagar has left the pedestrians helpless.

Many times people were spotted running across the road in front of speeding vehicles. The Traffic Police while making traffic changes need to give better importance to safety of pedestrians rather than ensuring free flow of vehicle traffic movement.
