The shop owners in Tamil Nadu closed their shutters on 1st December 2011 protesting against Centre's decision to allow 51 per cent equity in multi-brand retail. A number of traders in Anna Nagar, Mogappair and Villivakkam area participated in the dawn-to-dusk strike.
