Vehicles Float On 100 Feet Road

The heavy thunderstorm that struck the city around 8.15am on Friday, 4th November 2011 wreaked havoc, bringing traffic to a halt in several places.

Deep flooding of rainwater along Inner Ring Road made vehicles to move like boats in a mini sea!.

Heavy inundation caused a lot of Metropolitan Transport Buses to break down. Many places vehicles got stuck in massive traffic congestions. Vehicles were stranded at Olympia Tech Park, Ekkaduthangal for hours due to waist deep water stagnation.

Traffic Police has a worse day. Pedestrians felt risking a fall with every step. Many two wheelers got stuck in deep waters. Travelling along roads in Mogappair and Villivakkam was a nightmare. Traffic was smooth flowing.

It was reported that motorists had to wait for long time in inching traffic on Poonamallee High Road and near Guindy Kathipara bridge. It took about  two hours to reach Vadapalani from Guindy along 100 Feet Road. Roads in Koyambedu and Ambattur main roads was also waterlogged and battered.
