Reach Foundation, a voluntary organisation working towards educating the public on the importance of heritage protection and conversation had organised an awards distribution function recently in the city. Dr.Deme Raja Reddy, a Neroulogist who proved the antiquity of Telugu script and coin minting some 2000 years ago and wrote a book on his findings to prove Telugu is a classical language was honored on the occasion.
The other awardees are AN Chandrasekaran, a rheumatologist who revived the temple centric village Arunkundram at Arcot and Dr MS Mathews, an IIT professor who done an exhaustive study to make heritage structures earth quake resistant.
The special guest was Balakrishnan, Chennai Pateroleum Chief Vigilance Officer. Industrialist Ravi Sam welcomed the gathering. Reach Foundation Trustee and Treasurer H.Chandrasekaram proposed the vote of thanks.
