Children’s Day Celebrations

Children’s day was celebrated on 14th November at SBIOA Model Matric and Hr. Sec. School, Chennai. Shri. D.Sureshkumar, President of the SBIOA Educational Trust delivered the presidential message. This was followed by a special address by Shri.T.P.Chandrasekaran, the Correspondent of the school.

Three students of  the school, paid tribute to the first Prime Minister of the country, namely, Bavya Angelin of  standard 12 “C”, Keerthana of  standard 6 “A” and Shyama Harihar of standard 6”B” spoke in English ,Tamil and Hindi respectively.

Mrs. Sophia Vijayarani, Principal of the school, introduced the chief guest of the function, Dr.Balaramani, Programme director of Chennai Kendra of Doordarshan.

Dr.Balaramani gave a thought provoking speech punctuated by wit and humour. He concluded his speech advising the students to acquire knowledge for the common good of the nation and its people. ‘Buds to Blossom, a unique programme was organized by the Department of Kindergarten on 12/11/11 for the play school children in and around Mogappair. 

Nearly 15 playschools with more than 100 children participated and prizes for the fancy dress and group action song were distributed to them on this day. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of web designing, face painting, paper presentation, quiz etc. organized for the senior students on the same day by the guests of honour Dr.Balaramani and the members of the SBIOA Educational Trust. Roveena of std.12 proposed the vote of thanks.
