Children’s Day 2011

The birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is celebrated as the Children's Day  on  November 14. This day is  so called because he liked children.

India's first prime minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's birthday has been celebrated as children's Day in the country.

Most schools have cultural programmes for the day. This is a special day  for children to engage in fun and frolic.

Schools celebrate this day by organizing cultural programmes. Kids are encouraged to participate in different activities, such as painting, singing, dancing, fancy dress, field events, elocutions, poetry, and so on.
