Temple Cleaning Activities

The 71st Month Temple Cleaning was organised by members and volunteers of LDSFT on Sunday, 16 October, 2011 at Sri Subramanya Swamy Temple. Sholinganallur. With the blessings of Lord Muruga the 71st Temple Cleaning got completed in a grand way. Transportation was arranged with a 25 seater school van through Oxford Matriculation School, Saidapet. 

The activity started with cleaning of sannathis of: Navagraham, Vanadurga, Saptakanniyar, Ganapathy, Mahalakshmi, Siva, Subramanyaswamy  Etc., Work included scrubbing and cleaning of outer prakarams with soap oil and removal of  dark dust through water wash. Mr.Manickam brought along with 4 saplings (2 Badam, 1 Vembu, 1 aalam) which were planted inside temple premises. 

At the Sri Subramaniaswamy Sannadhi 108 lamps were lighted by all the ladies and prayer services were performed. The Work got completed around 1pm. Tea and Lunch were served to all the participants.Sri Jayakumar, Assistant manager an associate of “Clasic Kudumbam Old Age Home” gave all the necessary support in the cleaning operations. 

Members were handed over with DVD of “Clasic kudumbam Old Age Home” and we have handed over 50 visiting Cards of Dr. R. Subramaniam (LDSFT) for facilitating contact of members through mail or by phone. 

We thank the management of Classic Kudumbam Old Age Home, Sholinganallur, for their permission and all the help they provided and also Sri Jayakumar, for his assistance and support. Next monthly Uzhavarappani will be the 72nd Temple cleaning scheduled on 20th November 2011, at Sri Sivasubramania Swamy Temple located at  42 Rama street, Nungambakkam – 600 034.  

Earlier LDSFT with 44 members cleaned the  Thiru Bala Subramanya Temple, Eldam's Road, Teynampet, Chennai.They were shown the working of various teams. LDSFT is organising uzhavara pani [Temple Cleaning] on second Sundays of every month.

LDSFT is engaged on several other activities of temples like 108 Thiruvilakku Pujas, Anmiga tours,Integrated community development, Organisational networking, interacting like minded organizations, establishing devotees forums, conducting lectures on Hindu dharma, general education, training volunteers on spiritual healings at hospitals and forming youth forums.
