The continuous heavy rainfall on Tuesday, 25th October 2011 caused severe water logging at Koyambedu 100 Feet Road, near the CMBT terminus. The incessant showers through the day had caused traffic congestion. It made it difficult for pedestrians as most of the footpaths was covered with water.
Road users complained that it was unsafe to walk on the roads, as pavements were also submerged under water. Traffic pile ups continued to be the city’s major problem on Tuesday as vehicles moved at a slow pace on many important main roads.
The morning downpour resulted in traffic snarls at many busy junctions, including the Kathipara junction. The motorists had a tough task negotiating Koyambedu Market roads. The water logging and huge potholes that have surfaced following the rains was indeed a great challenging stretch to cross.
