The construction work of a storm water drainage system is in process along the stretch of the 15th Main Road in Anna Nagar area.The construction work of the storm water drain work under JNNURM are being carried out by the Chennai Corporation to prevent of water logging on the roads, especially during the monsoon period.
The Chennai Metro Rail Limited will commence construction of a storm water drainage near the Koyambedu Wholesale Market. This is expected to considerably reduce water stagnation near the market during heavy rains.
The work is the first drain by the CMRL to reduce stagnation. The CMRL would construct more drains as part of the Metro Rail work.
