With the ever increasing vehicle population in Chennai city roads, crossing the busy roads has become a dangerous task. Pedestrians seem to be having a tough time crossing near Koyambedu CMBT and near the Koyambedu market complex, where a new traffic regulation has come into force.
The new traffic arrangement around Koyambedu area which came into force recently has helped in easing the traffic flow but caused difficulty for pedestrians to cross the roads. A reduction in the travel time for the motorists using the roads has also meant over-speeding of vehicles.
This is posing serious hazards to pedestrians. Pedestrians trying to cross the roads have a harrowing time to make sure that they are not hit by vehicles. Traffic personnel have been posted at a few points to enable pedestrians to cross the road.
