Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women, Anna Nagar had conducted a Fresher Day celebration titled Varistha 2011 on 4th and 5th August 2011. The programme commenced with Tamil Pattimandram on Cinema Padalgal Samudayathai Seerpadthugiratha Alladu Seerkedukiratha. It was chaired by Mr.Ravi Shanker, Media host and singer. 
The judges were Dr.B.Sudha (Dept of Commerce), Dr.Radhika ( Head of French Dept) from Anna Adarsh College and Dr.Latha ( Dept of English) from Presidency College. The various events were group singing, folk dance, fashion show and skit. The off stage events were namely,Rangoli, Bridal Make up etc.
Mr.Kamal Ramanadan, comedy artist in Regional TV channels inspired students on self motivation. The programme was graced by Mr.Arun, Director of Krishnaswamy Educational Trust,Dr.KP.Malathi Shiri, Principal of the College and Lion.Kumaresan. In Fashion show the First place went to Srividya.
In group dance the first place went to II BCA Dept and second place to II B.Com. In group singing, the first place went to I BSc and second place was secured by II B.Com. Kalpana of I B.Com won the first prize in Pattimandram and Gayathri of II BCA got the second prize.
