Drawing Exhibition By Chinmaya Vidyalaya School Student

Shwetha is a class IX at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Taylors Road, Kilpauk, Chennai. She has brought many laurels to her school. Her father who is an ardent painter himself, was her inspiration. He taught her the nuances of painting and drawing. Shwetha – means white, but she is gifted to bring life to colours. Her tryst with colour started at the very young age of 3.

The first recognition for her talent came at the age of 4 where she won a painting competition. From then she has never looked back. Her thirst to learn new concepts in art has induced her to learn oil painting, clay modeling, water colour from the age of 9.

Her mother who is a music teacher herself has helped to learn musical skills. She has won prizes in all the competitions that she had participated. But this quiet and confident girl takes all the laurels in her stride.

Her first exhibit was in Lalit Kala Academy, Chennai in December 2008, where 60 of  her paintings were displayed out of which 40 paintings were sold.
