For the Chennai city vehicle riders, passing the congested signal at Anna Nagar Arch signal junction is a daily ordeal. In is a common sight to witness traffic jam near Anna Nagar Arch on the Poonamallee High Road stretch upto Ampa Skywalk signal junction at Nelson Manickam Road.
The motorists hope that the new additional Aminjikarai bridge will bring relief to the road users. The Highways Department official report, states that the Poonamallee High Road is the second most congested road in the city and the stretch between Nelson Manickam Road and Poonamallee High Road is witnessing heavy traffic movement every day.
The two-kilometer stretch from the Ega theatre to the Anna Arch junction witnesses heavy traffic flow on both directions and is an accident prone zone.
The Chennai City Traffic Police are thinking of new measures to decongest traffic movement near Ampa Sky walk traffic signal junction.
